Women in Refrigerators
So everyone knows comic books can be sexist, and that they can idealize the human body. Both male and female. There is Trope of female superheroes who are brutalized, de-powered or killed to further the story of a male hero. Although coined from a Green Lantern comic, it is present in most forms of story-telling.

Update of sorts.
Now that "Jeff Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis" finally shipped from amazon yesterday. I feel closer to uncovering the truth. Not really, but I am excited. It won't be here for a few weeks sadly. Jeff Smith played Dracula from what I can tell... so I guess there's no guarantee that there will even be a clip with Gregory Battcock as Batman. Still, it looks like it's as close as I'm going to get. They said it's a lost video... but obviously if there are scenes from it in "Jeff Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis" then SOMEONE has a copy. Also, my books arrived from St. John's as well. That's swell.
Still on the topic of Andy Warhol, did you know that he created a series of prints entitles "myths" which basically deals with contemporay mythos through pop culture. Similar to what I'm hoping to explore.
Myths; Superman

What better contemporary myth to screenprint but the man of steel/apollo/Jesus Christ creature?
... But more on Superman later. That's a whole 'nother can o' worms.

Progress
So here's my first in progress Batmaaannnnssss.
Batman gets groceries. Batmans needs to eat too.
This one is about 50% done. I'm hoping to have it done no later then Monday.
Here's more Batman research:
Faust was inspiration for Batman. In the movie Batman Begins, young Bruce Wayne gets scared in a production of Faust Mephistopheles and makes his parents leave early. Then they go down a dark alley aaaaaandd we all know what happens. What was bruce afraid of?
A Batman motif that frequently stays the same in the comic books. This is from Frank Miller's Year One:
Which is fairly remenicent of a peice i've already mentioned:
And then there's Zorro:
No luck on the the Jeff Smith Batman yet. Back to work.
